Carb-Free Sourdough Bread!
This egg white protein bread is very popular in the keto and carnivore community, but I’ve played around with it and added some custom ingredients to make it my own and the result is amazing!
Even though this bread is literally just egg whites, it doesn’t taste eggy!
Add 12 egg whites (or 1 1/2 cups cartoned egg whites) to a mixing bowl. Add 1 tsp cream of tartar, 1 Tbsp powdered sweetener, 1/2 tsp salt and three droppers full of sourdough extract (I order mine on Amazon, but you can just make plain white bread if you don’t have it). Beat with an electric mixer until you get stiff peaks.
Add half cup egg white protein (I use “it’s just” brand from Amazon) or powdered egg whites and continue mixing until everything is well combined.
Load up into a parchment lined loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Make sure your oven rack is low enough to allow for some rising and bake at 325° for 45 minutes.
Shut your oven off but leave the bread in the oven for an additional 15 minutes. Remove, allow to cool before slicing, store in fridge.
Don’t forget the butter!
